The 2023 3rd International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Analysis (ICCPA 2023) was successfully held on April 7-9, 2023, in Hangzhou, China. The event saw participation from nearly 70 experts and scholars, and more than 100 people joined the conference through the online platform, ZOOM. ICCPA 2023 provided an enabling platform for innovative academics, engineers, and industrial experts in the field of Computer Engineering and Application to exchange new ideas and present research findings. This conference also facilitated the establishment of business or research relations among global partners for future collaboration. It was hoped that this conference could make a significant contribution to the update of knowledge about these latest scientific fields.

The conference commenced with an opening remark from Prof. Taiquan Wu, a professor of the College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power, who was entrusted by Prof. Shubin Yan, Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering.

Then the conference entered the keynote speech session, where four professors from both domestic and international institutions were invited to give the keynote speech. The first keynote speaker was Prof. Witold Pedrycz, an IEEE Life Fellow from the University of Alberta, Canada. The presentation was titled “Credibility of Machine Learning Architectures: Designing Self-Awareness Mechanisms.”

The second keynote speaker was Prof. Zhenming Yuan from Hangzhou Normal University. The speech title was “Artificial Intelligence Methods for Maternal and Infant Health.”

Following an inspiring report by Prof. Yuan, the conference participants, both on-site and online, gathered for a group photo. And then, the conference took a ten-minute tea break.


The keynote speeches resumed after the break. The third keynote speaker was Prof. Qinming Yang, an IEEE Senior Member from Zhejiang University, China. The speech was titled  “Enhancing Wind Energy Harvesting by Industrial Data Intelligence.”

The next keynote speaker was Assoc. Prof. Pavel Loskot, an IEEE Senior Member from Zhejiang University-University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institute (ZJUI), China. The title of his presentation was “Computing Tools and Methods for Predicting Protein Structures and Interactions.”

The next keynote speaker was Prof. Linlin Shen, from Shenzhen University, China. The title of his presentation was“Connecting Image and Text for General Computer Vision.”

The last keynote speaker was Prof. Guoqiang Zhong, Ocean University of China, China The title of his presentation was“Faithful Data Generation with Adversarial Learning.”

The afternoon session was the oral presentation, which was divided into two parts: offline and online. There were six offline and four online oral presentations.

The conference came to a successful conclusion amid lively discussions.
